Introducing 'The Scraps Gang'

Meet our gang of food waste recycling monsters who are here to help you recycle even more!

The scraps gang

Chompy of Chase Terrace – “I love your leftovers”

In a quiet green corner of Chase Terrace, just behind the gardens and hedges, lives Chompy, the happiest scraps monster around. He spends his days sniffing the air for potato peelings, leftover pasta, and old bread crusts.

Chompy knows that leftovers shouldn’t be wasted. When families in Chase Terrace use their food waste caddy, Chompy feels proud because those scraps are being put to good use instead of thrown away.

Chompy loves it when children remind grown-ups, “Don’t forget the food caddy!” because every leftover helps Chompy and helps the planet too.

Albert Apple Core of Lichfield – “We make power from peelings”

Albert Apple Core was born near the orchards and parks of Lichfield, when an apple core realised it could do something amazing. Albert learned that food waste can be turned into energy that powers homes and lights.

Albert travels around Lichfield telling everyone that banana skins and apple cores are full of hidden power. “Put them in the food waste caddy,” he says, “and watch them turn into energy!”

Every time a family recycles food waste, Albert shines brighter and feels super strong.

Lennie the Leftover Legend of Mile Oak - “Your scraps, my snacks”

In Mile Oak, Lennie the Leftover Legend is famous for loving snacks that others leave behind. Rice, peelings, and leftover dinners are Lennie’s favourite foods.

Lennie says that food scraps aren’t yucky - they’re brilliant! When families recycle their food waste, Lennie gets a full tummy and a big smile.

Lennie loves it when children remind adults that scraps belong in the food caddy, not the bin. “Your scraps are my snacks!” she laughs.

Ruby Recycling Queen of Amington - “Turning leftovers into green monster power”

High above Amington, in a sparkling green kingdom, rules Ruby Recycling Queen. Her crown glows every time someone recycles food waste properly.

Ruby teaches everyone that leftover food can be turned into clean, green power that helps animals, plants, and people. She believes every family can be a recycling hero.

When children in Amington help adults use the food waste caddy, Ruby’s kingdom grows greener and happier.

Greg Caddy King of Belgrave - “Hungry for food waste”

In kitchens across Belgrave, Greg Caddy King waits patiently inside the food waste caddy. His lid flips open wide whenever peelings, tea bags, or leftovers come his way.

Greg loves it when food waste goes in the right place, because he knows it will be recycled into something useful. He gets a bit sad when scraps go in the wrong bin.

That’s why Greg counts on children to remind adults: “Feed the caddy!” When the caddy is used properly, Greg knows Belgrave is doing its bit for the planet.
