We’re committed to delivering a reliable waste and recycling service to residents who live in properties with communal bin areas, including flats, apartment complexes and houses in multiple occupation.
To carry out collections safely, our crews must be able to access your communal bins without obstruction.
If rubbish is left loose on the ground or in front of the bins, it can block access and may prevent us from emptying your bins.
Our teams are on a strict timescale in order to empty everyone bins, and because of this they cannot clear waste that is left outside the bins, strewn on the floor, or piled up in front of communal bins.
When access is blocked, we will report the issue to the managing agent or housing provider and request that the area is cleared. Once access is restored, we’ll return to empty the bins on the next scheduled collection.
We are also sorry but also we can't empty communal recycling bins that contain the wrong rubbish - find out how to sort your waste into the right communal bin.
If you need to get rid of a bulky item, please take it to the tip or book a bulky/scrap waste collection - please don't just leave it in the communal bin store area.
Thank you for working together with your neighbours to keep your bin store area clean, clear, and easy to access and for recycling as much as you can.
