Apply to trade

Applications for the Spring Food and Drink Festival are now closed. Successful applicants will be notified in early March.

We are still accepting applications to trade at the August Food & Drink Festival 2026 on 29 - 31 August 2026.

Pitch fees

We offer a selection of standard and premium pitches.

  • Standard pitches are located across the main festival footprint throughout Lichfield city centre, benefitting from strong visitor flows and easy access to key attractions.
  • Premium pitches are located on Market Street and Conduit Street only, offering high visibility, maximum footfall and close proximity to festival entertainment and activities

The costs are below:

Pitch type Cost
Standard pitch £550 plus VAT
Premium pitch £800 plus VAT

Important information:

  • The pitch fee covers the three days of the festival and traders are expected to trade for all three days for all advertised opening hours (10am – 4pm)
  • The standard pitch size (for both standard and premium) is 3x3m, however we may be able to accommodate 4x3 and 5x3 depending on the location - any ptiches exceeding 6m or more in length will be charged a £250 surcharge.
  • Premium pitches are limited and allocated at the discretion of the events team - if you are interested in a premium pitch, please request this in your application.
  • Lichfield District Council will not provide generators, power supplies, or cabling - these are the responsibility of each trader - only silent or low-noise generators are permitted on site.

Street trading consents

Lichfield District Council will apply for the required street trading consents on behalf of traders.

Street trading fees for the August Food & Drink Festival 2026 is £40 per pitch.

This fee will be added to trader invoices and is in addition to the pitch fees listed above.

Trader selection

Submitting an application is an expression of interest, not an automatic confirmation of a pitch.

To ensure a high-quality and varied festival experience, pitches are allocated by the events team based on:

  • Product quality and uniqueness.
  • A balanced mix of food, drink and artisan traders.
  • Local and regional representation.
  • Avoiding duplication of similar products.
  • Suitability for pitch size and location.

This approach allows us to curate a vibrant festival that supports independent traders while delivering a great experience for visitors.

Trader requirements

If you wish to trade, you must be able to provide:

  • A copy of your public liability insurance with a minimum cover of £5 million.
  • A minimum 4-star food hygiene rating (where applicable), which must be current at the time of trading and specific to your mobile unit.
  • Full details of products being sold.
  • Exact size and details of your trading setup (stall, trailer, gazebo etc).

Successful applicants will be required to comply with all event safety and operational guidance.
