We are proud to announce that we have achieved White Ribbon accreditation, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to ending men’s violence against women and fostering a culture of respect, safety, and equality for all.

White Ribbon accreditation is not the end of our journey - it’s the beginning of a long-term commitment.

Our ambition is to be a leading voice in promoting a culture where violence against women and girls is never tolerated and where everyone feels safe and respected.

We are committed to changing attitudes and behaviours, challenging gender inequality, and building an inclusive workplace and community.

As part of our ongoing commitment, we are developing a comprehensive programme of activities to ensure we bring this ambition to life. This will include:

  • Awareness events throughout the year to mark key dates (e.g., White Ribbon Day, International Women's Day)
  • Staff training and development focused on prevention, awareness, and bystander intervention
  • Policy and process reviews to ensure our organisation supports those affected by gender-based violence
  • Communication campaigns to engage staff, raise awareness, and promote the White Ribbon message
  • Partnership working with local services and community organisations

Activites we currently deliver

  • Safer nights operations - evening-time initiatives designed to make sure that people visiting or leaving pubs and restaurants can do so more safely, by reducing unsafe vehicles or taxis, increasing licensing compliance, and offering safety advice for vulnerable individuals.
  • Safer Christmas campaign and toolkit - gives advice, guidance and support to people to stay safe over the festive period, including promotion of Ask for Angela and Holly Guard - view our resources.
  • Taxi rank marshalling - during busy periods.
  • Knife bins in Lichfield District to encourage knives off our streets.
  • Stop the Bleed training and kits - to ensure our communites can respond when the worst happens - find out more.

Our White Ribbon accreditation is part of our community safety strategy, which aims to make everyday life in Lichfield District feel safer, more connected, and more supported.
