Street sweeping and weed spraying

Different areas of our district are swept at various frequencies, depending on how busy they are.

We work with Burntwood Road Sweepers as well as use our own in house smaller sweepers to keep local streets clean.

  • As a general guide, we sweep roads where there is a defined kerb - we sweep main roads more frequently.
  • Busier routes and areas are swept more regularly, whilst less busy routes may only be swept once a year.
  • We do not sweep:
    • Rural roads where there are no defined kerbs - we can arrange to sweep these if there is an issue - just report a street cleansing issue and we'll look into it.
    • Streets on newer housing estates that are not adopted/managed by management companies.
  • Find out where and how regularly we sweep by searching sweet sweeping rounds by street name.

We weed spray in Lichfield City centre and in areas where we are commissioned to do so by parish councils.

  • Staffordshire County Council weed spray main roads and kerblines.
  • Private housing management companies carry out weed spraying in some housing estates.

If you have a weed spraying concern, please report it to us and we'll let you know if we can address it.

Please let us know if you see an issue on the public highway or public land:
