Litter picking and bin emptying
We litter pick on roads where it is safe to do so at various frequencies.
Because we need to keep our team safe, some roads require a road closure before we are able to litter pick them - for example in a 60 mph speed limit zone where the verges are narrow.
Where a road closure is required, we ask Staffordshire County Council to close the road (which is not always immediate and not in our control) and we then litter pick it - we are sorry if any delays to this causes frustration.
You can report a road that needs to be closed to enable litter picking to take place to Staffordshire County Council online or call 0300 111 8000.
We take a hard line if we see anyone littering, dumping rubbish and issue fines to deter people from doing it again - find out more.
Please let us know if you see an issue on local roads, including syringe and sharps removal, litter, broken glass or vomit that requires street cleansing.

Litter bins and dog poo bins
We empty some litter and dog poo bins across the district at various frequencies - depending on how busy an area is and how full the bins get.
- We empty litter bins in Lichfield city and Burntwood town centres, as well as litter bins owned by parish councils across the district - where they have commissioned us to do so.
- We empty litter and dog poo bins in parks and open spaces that we own and manage - view our parks and open spaces.
- Litter and dog poo bins in other parks and open spaces will be emptied by the council or organisation that owns them.
If you see an overflowing bin, please report it to us and we'll let you know if we can empty it or if not, who to report it to.
