An LLC1 search is a legal property search of the land charges register that reveals any restrictions or obligations affecting a property.
It discloses charges such as planning permissions, listed building status, tree preservation orders, the removal of permitted development rights (Article 4 directives) and financial liabilities.
This search is essential for buyers and mortgage lenders to understand potential legal constraints before completing a property transaction.
As part of a national programme, LLC1 searches are transferring to the Land Registry.

- The Lichfield District register has not yet transferred to the Land Registry
- Contact us to request an LLC1 or full search in Lichfield District.
- The Lichfield District register is expected to transfer to the Land Registry by April 2026. After this date you will need to contact the Land Registry for an LLC1 search and full searches will no longer be available. After this date, we will only be able provide a response to CON29 questions.
