LLC1 and full searches
As part of our work to transfer the land charges register to HM Land Registry, Lichfield District Council will not be able to provide LLC1 and Personal Searches after the 9 April 2026. This is because we need to clear all searches prior to the new HM Land Registry portal going live on the 21 April 2026.
An LLC1 search is a legal property search of the land charges register that reveals any restrictions or obligations affecting a property.
It discloses charges such as planning permissions, listed building status, tree preservation orders, the removal of permitted development rights (Article 4 directives) and financial liabilities.
This search is essential for buyers and mortgage lenders to understand potential legal constraints before completing a property transaction.
As part of a national programme, LLC1 searches are transferring to the Land Registry.
LLC1 and full searches in South Staffordshire

- Full searches are no longer available. We can only provide a response to CON29 questions.
LLC1 and full searches in Lichfield District
- The Lichfield District register has not yet transferred to the Land Registry
- Contact us to request an LLC1 or full search in Lichfield District.
- As part of our work to transfer the land charges register to HM Land Registry, we will not be able to provide LLC1 and Personal Searches after the 9 April 2026. This is because we need to clear all searches prior to the new HM Land Registry portal going live on the 21 April 2026. We will of course be able to continue to provide responses to official CON29 questions, and Building Control data requested under the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) after the 9 April 2026.
