Drainage searches

A drainage search (sometimes called a CON29DW) is a property search carried out during the conveyancing process to provide information about a property’s connection to public water supplies and sewers.

The search confirms whether the property is connected to mains water and drainage, the location of public sewers and water mains, who is responsible for maintaining them, and whether any drains run within the boundaries of the property (which could affect future building works). It also checks for issues such as water pressure, sewer flooding, or restrictions on use.
