Bin days and missed bins
If you are subscribed we will empty your garden waste bin(s) every other week, on the same day as your blue recycling bin - visit our online bin calendar to check your date.
Missed bins
You can report a missed collection if your garden waste bin wasn’t emptied.
We may miss your collection in certain circumstances such as:
- Collections may be suspended or cancelled during severe ice or snow.
- If your bin contains the wrong items, we won’t return before the next scheduled collection - please remove the contamination for next time.
- We cannot empty bins that are overloaded, too heavy, or have a raised lid. Please ensure the extra waste is removed from the bin so it can be emptied the next time.
- Your bin is not displaying a valid garden waste sticker, see how to order a replacement.
- Our crews could not get to your road (for example a parked car blocked their way).
Christmas & New Year collections
- Garden waste collections pause over the Christmas and New Year period (black and blue bins/bags will still be collected as normal during this time).

- All other bank holidays throughout the year will not affect your usual collection day.
*Garden waste collections take place on alternate weeks (up to 23 collections per year), with a short break over Christmas and New Year
