A new national recycling service coming is coming to your home this spring.

From 30 March, on your normal weekly collection day, you will be able to recycle your food waste every week from home, thanks to a new service we are required to roll-out, as part of the Government’s Simpler Recycling initiative.

To help you use the service, between 16 February and the end of March, we will deliver you:

This is a UK-wide change, not a local decision. It forms part of the Government’s plans to reduce landfill, cut carbon emissions and improve recycling across the country.

The government's simpler recycling initiative requires that all local councils roll out a food waste service by March 2026.

Food waste caddy deliveries will begin from mid-February 2026. You will be able to put your filled food waste caddy out from week commencing 30 March on your normal weekly bin day, unless you live in a flat or apartment block with a communal bin store

There is no need to sign up, everything will be delivered to your home.
