How to use your caddies

Once you receive your caddy pack, please line your internal caddy with a liner and start filling it up with your food waste from the last week in March.

Then put your filled external caddy out on your normal weekly collection day and make it sure it’s visible in front of your bins and bags, and we’ll empty it – every week.

Step 1 – Fill it up

Line your small kitchen caddy and fill it up during the week - find out what can and can't go in your caddy.

Step 2 – Tie it up

When your kitchen caddy liner is full, just tie it at the top and pop it in your large outdoor caddy – the liner will be removed before the food waste is processed.

Reline your caddy and start filling it up again.

Step 3 – Put it out

Please put your outdoor caddy out every week with your other bins and bags:

  • At the kerbside in front of your other bins, so our crews can see it, oftentimes we empty your bins in the dark so it really helps if you make sure, we can clearly see your outdoor caddy.

  • By 6am on your normal collection day

Remember: We will empty your outdoor food caddy every week when you put it out with your other bins and bags on your usual collection day.

Top tip: Why not number or decorate your outdoor caddy so you know it’s yours and it doesn’t get mixed up or lost?
