Our waste and recycling crews are working really hard in the heat to empty as many bins as possible - we are also putting on extra staff to help keep services running. Our crews walk more than 12 miles a day and each team empties around 1,200 bins, which is a huge task in high temperatures. Unfortunately, despite everyone’s best efforts, we missed a small number of streets yesterday - we are very sorry if your bin or bag was not emptied as a result. If your bin/bag hasn’t emptied this week, please leave it out and we will return to empty it in the next few days. If your bin/bag collection is due this week, please put them out as normal. Hot weather can be enjoyable, but it also brings risks – particularly for older people, young children and those with health conditions.
