Run out of caddy liners
Just loop the caddy tag around the handle of your caddy using the slit.
When you run out of liners, take the yellow tag from the end of your roll and:
- fold it lengthways and loop it around the handle of your outside caddy by feeding one end gently through the slit
- or pop the caddy tag under the lid before you close it, so it shows on the outside (see below)
- or if you have lost your caddy tag or didn't have a tag at the end of your roll, do not worry - just pop a note on your caddy with a bit of sellotape to ask for 'more liners please' - just make sure our crews can see the note/your writing is big enough. Thanks!
Put it out on your next normal collection day, and our crew will then drop off a new roll of liners.
Alternatively, you can buy your own caddy liners if you would prefer, but please make sure they are clear plastic, so we can check that the food waste inside can be recycled. Used transparent bread bags are also another great thing to use.
Please do not use:
- Solid colour bags of waste - we need to be able to see the food waste inside bags.
- Compostable bags, as they break down too quickly and clog up the machinery at the processing plant. They also aren’t composted and are sent to be incinerated.
Longer terms, when soft plastic recycling is introduced, the caddy liners will also be sent to be recycled.
Alternatively, pop your caddy tag under the lid before you lock it.
