Please accept our apologies, but we are facing a number of challenges with the collections and as such are focusing solely on scheduled collections.
Unfortunately this means we will be unable to guarantee a return to reports of missed collections except where the household is an assisted collection.
Please use this form to let us know and if we are not able to return we can arrange to collect excess from the side of your bin on your next collection as follows:
- Black bin – up to 3 refuse sacks
- Garden waste bin – up to 3 open sacks so we can see the contents
- Paper and card bag – please secure any excess and leave it next to the bin or place it in a reusable shopping bag that we can empty and return.

Our crews do not finish their collection rounds before 4:30pm, so if you are reporting a missed bin before 4:30pm, we may not have reached you yet. Our crews also have to go to the tip site regularly to empty their wagon - sometimes halfway through a street because their vehicle is full. They will come back to finish the street when they have emptied their vehicle.
You must report a missed bin before midnight on the next working day after your bin collection was due (unless you have an assisted collection). If you report it later that this, we will not be able to return to empty it.
Our crews let us know if your bin(s) was not collected for a reason, e.g. it was not out on time, it contained the wrong waste or was or too heavy. If your bin(s) was not emptied because of any of these reasons, we will not return to empty it and we will not offer any refunds to garden waste customers.
If collections are suspended because of snow or other operational issues we will do our best to return as soon as possible please visit www.lichfielddc.gov.uk/snow to find out about any catch up collections. If we cannot return to empty your garden waste bin(s) due to the snow/ice or frozen bins, we are sorry but will not offer any refunds.
Once you submit your form, our team will check whether your bin was out on time, was contaminated or whether it was missed. Our system will send you an e-mail to let you know whether our crews will return to empty it.
As part of this form, we will ask for your email address (please enter a valid email). This is so we can keep you up to date on whether we can return to empty your bin.
