The flood water in Museum Gardens has now subsided, but unfortunately it has left behind a significant amount of mud, silt and debris. Our team is working with Severn Trent on a clean-up plan, and the affected area will remain cordoned off until the work has been completed and it is safe to reopen.

The flooding has also caused some sections of concrete along the Park Run route to lift. With debris still to be cleared and further heavy rain forecast for Saturday, the organisers of Park Run have cancelled this Saturday's run to keep everyone safe.

The gates next to the Registry Office will remain closed, and we ask visitors to please avoid the cordoned-off area. The gates next to the café will remain open, although we will keep access under review over the coming days as we continue to monitor the weather and conditions in the park.

Thank you for bearing with us while we get Museum Gardens cleaned up and back to normal.

Our telephone lines are closed over the bank holiday weekend from 5pm on Friday 28 August to 9am on Tuesday 1 September. If you need help whilst we are closed, why not WhatsApp us on 01543 308171 and we'll get back to you on Tuesday. Alternatively, why not use our single form to book, apply for or report a local issue. If your query is urgent and it cannot wait until Tuesday, please contact our out of hours service on 0300 303 8234. If your bin/bag is due to be emptied on Monday, please put it out as our crews will be collecting as normal.

We are reviewing housing benefit claims for some pensioners who are not receiving Pension Credit. A third party company will be acting on our behalf to conduct these reviews. Please respond promptly to any forms sent. Be assured this is genuine and not a scam. Find out more.
