Hot weather can be enjoyable, but it also brings risks – particularly for older people, young children and those with health conditions. Please check in on anyone who may need extra support this weekend. Avoid swimming in lakes, rivers or canals unless it’s part of a supervised activity, as open water can be dangerous. Barbecues are not allowed in parks or open spaces during hot weather due to the risk of fires.  Read our top tips on how to stay safe. If you’re concerned about someone sleeping rough, please find out about our severe weather emergency protocol.

Our telephone lines are closed over the bank holiday weekend from 5pm on Friday 22 May to 9am on Tuesday 26 May. If you need help whilst we are closed, why not WhatsApp us on 01543 308171 and we'll get back to you on Tuesday. Alternatively, why not use our single form to book, apply for or report a local issue. If your query is urgent and it cannot wait until Tuesday, please contact our out of hours service on 0300 303 8234. If your bin/bag is due to be emptied on Monday, please put it out as our crews will be collecting as normal.
