Refusing applications

We may refuse to grant a consent. Where a consent is refused, we will advise the applicant in writing and notify them of the reason for the refusal.

There is no right of appeal against a decision to refuse a consent. The head of regulatory services, housing and wellbeing may, however, allow an appeal to the regulatory and licensing committee if it is felt appropriate.

Details on how to appeal will be given to applicants when a decision to refuse the consent has been made.
