We are urging residents to take extra precautions during the hot weather. Key advice includes reporting any street homelessness to ensure vulnerable individuals get essential assistance, staying hydrated, checking on neighbours (especially older or vulnerable people), and not swimming in open water or rivers. Barbecues are also not permitted in our parks or open spaces during this dry spell - thank you for your understanding. Read our hints and tips from the community safety partnership about how to keep safe and well in the heat.

We are in contact with all known rough sleepers in the district to encourage them into accommodation during this warm spell as part of our severe weather emergency protocol. If you are concerned about a rough sleeper that you feel needs help, please call us on 01543 308000 or outside of office hours call 01527 406643.
